DCC September RECAP

A  "Man Up"  September Adventure!

When the men get together at Desert Christian Center for an event, they don't mess around. On September 13th, the men met at the east side of the DCC building and experienced an awesome dinner with burgers, home made chili from Ariel Santos and delicious desserts by Candace.  Immediately following,  the men’s competitiveness came out as they participated in axe throwing (Yes, you read right) archery, basketball and corn hole! They received their second meal- the spiritual food. It was given by Pastor Bob as the men sat around the campfire.  The men were challenged to take their place and just as Elisha instructed the King to shoot an arrow out the eastern window, we too can shoot an arrow of victory over our enemy.
The men meet regularly on Saturday's  for Men's Bible Study and breakfast at the LifeHouse on the west side of the church campus.  All men are welcome to come. Taste and see that the Lord is good.

Ladies Night at DCC

The ladies of Desert Christian Center gathered at the east side of the DCC property on September 27th, 2024 with an evening of soup, chili, s'mores and fun!  They circled around the fire and heard an encouraging word from Sharon Vinson-Flores.  She shared, "that in the midst of all the distractions in this World- we hear the Lord." (John 10:27).
The adventure began in axe throwing, shooting arrows and playing corn-hole.  It was then that we found out that we have very competitive women in our church!
Their time was wrapped up with a beautiful time of worship around the fire pit.
The ladies gather monthly with various specialty events to include potluck breakfasts, evening adventures, movie and craft nights.  Stay tuned for upcoming gatherings.

aBLAZE Youth at RIM's Camp Pondo

With the exciting start of all the kids and volunteer counselors meeting at the church (highest amount in 3 yrs.), one could feel the expectation of God’s visitation with the youth. It was encouraging to see the chit chat amongst themselves about past experiences and what they were excited to see when they got to Camp Pondo.  With our vans and trucks full, it was 3 hours of 2 way radio jokes and fun while others took naps (shocker right, lol). From the moment we arrived, the electricity among the kids from all the church was absolutely amazing. The hugs, the high fives, the shouts from across the field, no one can mistake that family was coming together! Whether they were grubbing on Chef Rob’s meal or experiencing chapel, it was so encouraging watching God solidifying the hearts of our young people as a RIM family.  The most encouraging part is they each would have an encounter with God himself for themselves. Whether from the worship from Vida y Fe or the DCC/RCC collective, the Word from the leaders or our own youth, everyone was graced with God’s presence. The highlight from the kids was the encouragement they received from their own youth speaker that gave either a testimony and or a Word from the Lord. One thing can certainly be said and many leaders have agreed… that there were spiritual lines made or crossed in the proverbial sand of their hearts. A line or better said, a revelation, that defined a new place of who Christ is in them. We all came down the mountain inspired, united, and encouraged for what the Lord has in store for us all.  (Jer. 29:11)

A Monday BIBLE STUDY - Mornings and Evenings

In the this Monday Bible study we will study the scriptures, break bread together, pray for one another and allow Holy Spirit to do what He wants to do.  The purpose of this study is to capture our identity in Christ and do what He has called us, His Church, to do.  As we see how the early Church functioned and what was available to them, those in our group will know they have the same anointing, the same Word and the same Holy Spirit and the same mandate to go into all the world with this gospel, setting the captives free.  If you are desiring a deeper walk with the Lord, this group is for you.  If you desire to function in the gifts of the Spirit, this group is for you.
This Study is being led by Connie Zeno on Monday mornings and Henderson and Connie Zeno on Monday evenings.  Contact the church office for location.

The children are being taught The Good News!

Kid's Zone

Our kids are on a travel adventure for the month of October. Sometimes our travel adventures can get a little bumpy, but God is with us no matter what we go through! As we travel, we will experience some exciting truths about who God is and how we can trust Him to help us grow in our faith!  JOIN US “ALONG THE WAY”!

4 Year Olds & Pre-K

The 4 year old and Pre-K kids recently heard the story of the time when the Queen of Sheba saw God through Solomon's wisdom. Solomon knew his wisdom and kingdom weren't from his own efforts, and his generosity towards the queen shows us how God helps us do big things.
James 1:5 was last month's scripture memory verse. Will you help them memorize it?

Birth - 3 Year Olds

These little ones have been having a hoppin' good time in this classroom!  They've been worshipping the Lord with dance and praise.  Singing songs about Jesus!  We really believe they experience the happiest place on earth!

Save the Date: November 3rd

It's going to be a fun filled day with love, appreciation and food to include our Youth and Young Adults leading the service.  We encourage everyone to bring a potluck dish to share -Even better, take part in the Chili Cook Off!   So be sure to invite all of your family and friends! It's gonna be a "Big Day!"
