Absolute power and authority of the word of God - Victor Marcano
Note: Due to technical difficulties we have placed the notes of the sermon on this platform for you.
Matthew 22:37-40 NLT 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Moses says Deuteronomy 8:3 NLT
3 Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Solomon said to his people/ looking back at Israel history. If it was true then it is true now.
1 Kings 8:56 NLT 56 “Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.
David says in Psalms
Psalm 56:10-11 NKJV 10 In God (I will praise His word), In the Lord (I will praise His word), 11 In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
We know David to be a singer of songs unto the Lord. David was a man after God’s own heart. But David understood that the revelation of ALL of who God is in his word.
Psalm 138:2 NKJV 2 I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
Consider 3 scripture in the new testament, specifically in the book of John.
John 14:13 13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
John 15:16 NLT16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
John 16:23 NLT 23 At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name.
Does this mean you can ask for whatever you want? Absolutely not!
Because his word reveals his name, then by his same word, you get revelation to his name.
And with that revelation you get freedom through his Word!
Jehovah-Jireh: The Lord Shall Provide
Jehovah-Rapha: The Lord Who Heals
Jehovah-Shalom: The Lord Who Is Peace
Jehovah-Nissi: The Lord Is My Banner
Reading, believing, experiencing his word will continue to remind you that what God said, he will do!!
Psalm 119:89 NKJV Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.
In speaking of Psalms 119, in case you didn’t know, it is the longest chapter in the bible. And the chapter is about the Word proclaiming itself!
V11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
V16 I will (A)delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
V25 Revive me according to Your word.
V28 Strengthen me according to Your word.
V42 For I trust in Your word.
V58 Be merciful to me according to Your word.
V74 I have hoped in Your word.
And as you keep reading, the Word continues to proclaim itself.
V89 Your word is settled in heaven.
V105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
V116 Uphold me according to Your word
V133 Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.
Let me pause here because this is more than just a textbook, not just a devotional.
This book is a super natural book, when its preached, prayed over, when its believed and practiced.
V160 The entirety of Your word is truth,
V162 I rejoice at Your word
V169 Give me understanding according to Your word.
V170 Deliver me according to Your word.
V172 My tongue shall speak of Your word.
God’s word is so powerful, that its shakes the foundations of the earth. It gives clarity to who he is, it gives definition to who you are.
Your very identity is defined in his word.
Isaiah 55:11 NKJV 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
When we speak the word, pray the word, when we teach these word, we are confirming and agreeing and prophesying what God has already settle in us. IT CAN’T RETURN VOID
We should all strive to have to read and live his word, that the word itself will press itself out of us.
I like the way Jeremiah lays it out Jer 20:9
Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.
All of this is just the old testament. Let me take you to the new
John 1:1-3 NKJV 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
The word of God became flesh, the power of the word manifested itself in the person of Christ that we may experience the word of GOD personally.
As we grow in his word, as we experience his word, as we continue to share the word, Because God’s word does not return void, it will inherently grow.
Acts 19:20 KJV 20 So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.
I am absolutely convinced that as the Word grows in you, you will grow.
If there is more Word in the church, there will more of the church. If the Word prevails in the church, the church will always prevail.
The more word you have in you, the more victory you will experience. The more word, the more victory you have over rejection, over woundedness, over being fearful, over any hurt, habit or hang up you have been bound with in your life.
Paul’s last epistle to Timothy underscores this very truth.
2 Timothy 2:9 KJV 9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
Though you may be bound, God’s word is not bound….
Revelation 19:11-13 NKJV
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
